WSOP (Word Series of Poker) is an annual event also known as the “Colossus Event”. Professional poker players from all over the world gather and participate in tournaments with very attractive financial potentials.
This year, 22.374 players competed from May 29th until June 3rd in order to win the prize pool generated by the event. The prize pool was estimated at $11.187.000 seeing as every player had to put down a participation fee of $565. The luckiest poker player was Lance Garcia who won a grand $638.880.
The WSOP Main Event starts in July. Organizers stated that the prize pool will most likely overcome $70 million. Now that is a lot of money! The popularity of this event is growing by the minute as players show incredible poker skills.
Well, they also need a pinch of luck! Poker became the American Dream in 1988 when the WSOP event attracted 167 players. This was a very good start for what nowadays we call: A SUCCESFULL POKER EVENT.
Fun strategies, incredible skills, decisive face expressions, everything influences a poker game. For this reason the “Colossus Event” was only a preview of the Main Event, a teaser of sorts.
