Russia has set their sights on becoming the ideal destination for Asian gamblers by opening a multi-billion casino complex. This complex is called Primorye and is located near the city of Vladivostok. The first casino of the many in this area will open its doors in September. This particular casino will have around 25 VIP Gaming tables, 40 mass market tables, 800 slot machines and 199 hotel rooms. You might be wondering why this should impress us since there are plenty of casinos with far larger spaces.
The Russian government would answer back that this is only one casino out of the 16 that they have planned to be built in the area of Primorye. Two of the biggest Russian gambling companies say that they are planning to spend around $2.2 billion into this 1,500 acre casino hub.
Among this huge number of casinos that will open in this resort it will also feature a 1,500 seat theater, a spa, restaurants, clubs and even a lot of retail options if you’re in the mood for shopping.
The main focus of all of this is to give Macau a real competitor as the most important gambling hub in Asia. Given its location Primorye will actually be closer than Macau for gamblers in northern China, South Korea and Japan, which investors say is a crucial part of their efforts. Additionally Russia has no currency restrictions and visa requirements for South Vietnamese nationals and Chinese tour groups have already been scrapped. Rejoice Asian gamblers, Russia has got your back!
